November 2007 marked the 15th anniversary of the United Kindgom's withdrawal from the Exchange Rate Mechanism and the 10th anniversary of the Bank of England's independence in setting monetary policy. Our guests included many distinguished members of the British economic establishment who were actively involved in the events of this period.
